What's a Smart Key?

Smart car keys, also known as proximity keys, are advanced automotive keys that allow drivers to unlock, start, and secure their vehicles without physically inserting a key into the ignition or door locks. These keys use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology or Bluetooth communication to interact with the vehicle.

How Smart Keys Work

When the driver approaches the vehicle, the smart key automatically communicates with the car’s sensors.
The car detects the key’s unique encrypted signal, allowing keyless entry when the door handle is touched.
Once inside, the driver can start the engine using a push-button ignition, as long as the key is inside the vehicle.
Some smart keys also allow remote start, trunk access, and personalized vehicle settings.
